1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This project relates to the standard because I had to understand the political, religious, social, and economic institutions about a colonial era. Delaware was assigned to me and I found many different information about Delaware on the internet. Some sources were links that Ms. Park gave us. I was able to really understand many different things about Delaware.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
One skill I gained through this project is the skill of research. I had to find all of the information myself by looking it up online. This can come in handy a lot because there will be a lot of times in the future when I need to research and look something up. Researching can be used in all classes or even future jobs will be focused on the skill of researching. Researching can also be used when I write an article in ELA and I have to create a magazine. I will need to find the accurate information to put into my magazine and write a proper article about it.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
One area I could've improved on was planning out the space better. There wasn't enough space to have the pictures for some of the sections so I had to improvise and draw the picture on the words like it's the background. Another thing I could've done better on was to add more information. There wasn't a lot of things written down on my brochure. I should've looked up more info to put into my brochure.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society). Make connections between the content and your life.
I can use the skill of researching because there will be future projects when I need to find the information on my own. Most of the projects will require me to get the information on my own. Knowing how to do that will save me a lot of time when looking for the information. Like I said before, when I need to create a magazine and write an article I need to research my own information.
