RECOGNIZING ADVOCACY IN HISTORY
rosa parks was an african-american civil rights activist. she was born on february 4, 1913 and died on october 24, 2005. when her parents seperated, she followed her mother to pine level. rosa parks remembered when she was in elementary school. she was walking to school because black children had to walk to school. the white children rode the bus to school. the bus was the first way she realized there was a black world and a white world.
rosa parks was going on the bus one day. black people were supposed to sit in the back of the bus, but she sat in the front. the white section was full, but a white passenger needed to sit where rosa was sitting. the bus driver said that she had to go to the back, but she refused. the driver called the police and rosa parks got arrested. today, her birthday and the day she was arrested (december 1), is a holiday called rosa parks day.
when there is something i disagree to, i will say something. that will help to solve the problem. for example, if i disagree that we have to eat lunch in the hot sun, i will say something that we should be able to eat in the classrooms where it is cool. it is pretty unfair. we can get heat strokes in the sun. that is a supporting fact that will help my argument.
