1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
This assignment relates to the standard because we are showing awareness of our environment through making art. We made art out of materials that were things we didn't need. Our art tells people to not cut down trees and ruin the forest. When we cut down trees, we are also making other animals lose their habitat.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this assignment?
The first step that I took was to gather all of the materials that me and my groups needed to create out "cut down forest". The our groups made a layout of where everything was going to go. After that, we just hot glue-gunned everything where they belonged. Finally, we just turned in our project.
3) This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment demonstrates that I can create art out of "trash" or "junk". I think our "forest" was okay because we had all of the things we needed from our rubric. This assignment also shows that I can work well in a group to work on one project.
4) I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have improved my work by painting the cardboard base with green. The base wasn't completely covered in green (you can see the cardboard a little). The brushstrokes were also very visible on the base.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can use the skills of creating a theme. The theme like the 'SAVE THE TREES!' can be made for other things in the future. This can help me whenever I'm writing an essay. Themes can be really helpful when writing.
