1) Rewrite the standard in your own words. how does this assignment relate to the standard?
the standard 7 ls 2d is about students knowing that inherited traits have more than one genes to create them. this assignment relates to the standard because we created punnett squares to find the possibilities for our offspring.
2) What are the steps you took to complete and do well on this ASSIGNMENT?
first, i filled out the packet that ms.juarez gave to me. then, i made punnett squares to find the possibilities for my offspring between me and my partner. after that, i boiled an egg to represent my baby. i made the baby look like what i got from my punnett square results. finally, on my way to school, my baby cracked and i ate my baby! :)
3) This ASSIGNMENT demonstrates the following strengths...
first of all, this assignment demonstrated that i am a terrible mother to an egg. second, i can create punnett squares easily. at first, punnett squares were so confusing and hard, but as time went by, it got easier. now i know that if there is a homozygous dominant and a homozygous recessive, then the offspring will have the dominant trait.
4) I could have improved my work on this ASSIGNMENT by...
i could have improved my work by drawing better pictures of the " no freckles" and the "no dimples" because it looked like i just put an "x" for both. i also could have done better by wrapping my egg up more. then my baby wouldn't have died (cracked) because of my mistake.
5) How will you apply the skills you learned from this ASSIGNMENT in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
i can use this as a lesson for my other stuff. also, in high school, there is probably a health class where you take care of an egg/ baby. so, this is a lesson teaching me to next time wrap my baby up more!!!
