HAMMURABI'S CODE
The main part of Hammurabi's code is that when there is a crime, the punishment is based on the crime. It is like an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Hammurabi made this code of law so all of the people can have justice and stay equal. Hammurabi made a pillar have the code of law on it so all of the Babylonians can be able to see it. There are examples of Hammurabi's code:
1. If a man destroy the eye of another man, they shall destroy his eye
2. If one break a man's bone, they shall break his bone
3. If one destroy the eye of a freeman or break the bone of a freeman he shall pay one mana of silver
4. If one destroy the eye of a man's slave or break a bone of a man's slave he shall pay one-half his price
5. If a boy struck his father they would cut off the boy's hand or fingers
