1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This project relates to the standard because we had to gather information from different sources. Not all sites will have the same information so it is good to make sure to have the correct facts. For example, one site can say that Japanese internment camps happened in 1940. Another site can say that it started in 1942. Another site can say 1942. Even though the internment camps started in one date, three sites have similar answers. So what I do is find the different answers and use the date that repeats the most. So the internment camps started in 1942.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.
I gained a skill to have a central idea and get more information to build around the central idea. For example, my central idea was the Japanese internment camps. I got a lot of other information about the central idea and added other things like an interview and an informational text in the magazine. Another skill that I have gained is the skill to get the most accurate and appropriate information.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
I believe that I could have done better on the informational text because there wasn't a lot of information in an informational text. If I improve in this area, then I believe that I can get a better score on the assignment. Since there is a lot of info in it, there is a chance you can get extra credit for having surplus of information.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly connections between the content and your life?
I will use the skill of being able to write an article. There will be a time when I will need to be able to write an article about something. Maybe I need to write a biography about someone, then I need to interview them and get information. I interviewed a person who was there when the internment of Japanese - Americans.
