1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
The standard is to be able to explain the purpose of the Westward Expansion. My group was assigned China, where we researched how the Chinese was affected by the Manifest Destiny. This project relates to the standard by having us to find connection between the Manifest Destiny and China.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project.(Coloring and/or drawing are not skills to write about- elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
One thing that our group did was to have a pop quiz at the end of our presentation. We had to make a quiz and create close notes for the class to fill out. This skill will definitely come in handy when I want to become a teacher. I think I also got some leadership out of this project. I was able to assign my other group members what to do. I told them what they should draw depending on what they are good at. What's important is that everyone was able to participate equally, not just one person doing everything.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is one area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and/or drawing are not skills to write about- research skills, time management, etc..)
One thing that I could've have done better on was time management. Our group didn't get to finish in time so we had to come during lunch to finish. I think that if we had worked a little bit faster during class, we wouldn't have had to come during lunch.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today's society.) Make connections between the content and your life.
This project is to research on a topic assigned. We had to research on our own and do everything ourselves. In college, I believe that the professor will just assign a topic and we would be on our own from there. It is also good to know how to research so we can find a lot of good information. Knowing how to properly research can be a big help in any class.
